Competition Brief & Overview
Participants must develop an integrated design system for the World Design Capital Busan 2028 Pavilion, including both a Fixed Pavilion and a Mobile Pavilion. The competition seeks creative design ideas that connect through unified design language, components, user experience, and operating systems. Stage 1 requires an anonymous concept proposal (up to 6 A3 pages). Two selected teams advance to Stage 2 for four weeks of design development, presenting detailed integrated designs, implementation strategies, and feasibility plans. The final winning team completes design refinement incorporating jury feedback. Proposals must address WDC Busan identity, spatial design, modularity, transport, assembly, accessibility, climate response, circularity, and legacy planning. The competition emphasizes integration between Fixed and Mobile Pavilions, adaptability across different sites, and sustainable implementation.
