Competition Brief & Overview
The eVolo Skyscraper Competition invites participants to redefine skyscraper design through visionary ideas that explore innovative use of technology, materials, programs, aesthetics, and spatial organization. Participants should consider advances in technology, sustainable systems, and new urban and architectural methodologies addressing contemporary challenges including resource scarcity, population growth, pollution, economic inequality, and unplanned urban expansion. The competition investigates relationships between public and private space, individual and collective roles in creating dynamic vertical communities, and new habitats based on equilibrium between humanity and nature. There are no restrictions regarding site, program, or size, providing maximum creative freedom. Participants must submit two 24"x48" horizontal boards at 150 dpi in JPG format, a project statement (600 words max), and personal information files. All files must be placed in a ZIP folder named after the registration number. Submissions must be sent via email by March 9, 2027. The competition seeks to challenge and redefine understanding of contemporary skyscrapers and their role in shaping cities. Winners and selected projects will be published in print and digital publications including a forthcoming book.
